On today's blog we are going to discuss client consultation and its importance before even booking a service with us at Lashscious or with someone else in the industry!
We all see these perfect looking people on social media and we dream into looking better to gain more confidence, look younger or to change those tiny details we perceive as imperfections, just a reminder, we are all unique and what we think is an imperfection might be something the other wishes and dreams have, ie, beauty marks or moles on upper lip, freckles, thick brows, big luscious lips, big eyes, big or small breast size, big or smaller hip, and so on. Society makes us desire to look a certain way according to the current trend, if you were born in the 80’-90’ when I say: brows, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Yes, very thin eyebrows, almost a line above our eyes, thick eyebrows were not in at all! How about that mole on the upper lip just like Madonna? Well, some people even got it tattooed or were using a piercing to simulate this hot trend back in the days. Just because a treatment is a trend, doesn't mean we are all good candidates and this is due a very simple reason, we are not all the same, our skin or our bone structure to name a few vary from person to person. Right now there is a huge trend of getting our eyebrows done, now we all want it done, especially those who are from the 80’-90’, and we all know why! Before booking your appointment to get your eyebrows done you must go through a consultation with a professional PMU artist (permanent makeup artist), they will be able to assess your skin type and conditions. You may be wondering what this has to be with your brows or maybe you don’t know what skin type and conditions is. To understand further, I highly recommend discussing your concerns with the professional, you can always research on the internet, but your professional technician will have most if not all the answers. Knowing the difference between skin type and skin conditions will save you a lot of time and disappointment when wanting to have a treatment done. Let me explain this a little bit more, we are not a good candidate for all the beauty treatments availables because our skin type might not take the treatment well and more damage than benefit could be achieved, ie if you have a very dry skin a glycolic peel might not be a very good idea, as your skin will be even drier, don’t get me wrong there are other treatments for you if you are looking for an exfoliating process to increase the product penetration and achieve a more balanced and hydrated skin. Now, you might have a combination skin which is fine to get a chemical peel, but the problem is that maybe your skin condition right now presents some dehydration and sensitivity due to hormonal changes, sun exposure, work environment, smoking habits and many more. Due to your current condition you might not be a good candidate for a harsh treatment that will damage your skin and can cause even further issues like hyperpigmentation. So, why is client consultation so necessary? Well, we need to assess your skin type, your skin conditions, learn more about your skin goals in order to determine the best treatment and way to help you achieve that look you are wishing and dreaming about! If you have more questions about this or want to add some information you can always contact us at [email protected] or reach your skincare professional!
